MariGuard® Lutein Beadlet Solutions for Tablet Supplements

MariGuard® Lutein Beadlets are the beadlet dosage form adopting this technology, offering the stability, processing convenience to make tablets a preferred dosage form, resolving technical hurdles that have long restricted carotenoid tablet formulations.

Challenges of Formulation
Lutein and other lipophilic carotenoids present significant difficulties in tablet production. Key issues include:
Poor compressibility – crystalline lutein powders are unable to withstand pressure and form solid tablets.
Oil migration and staining – as a fat-soluble ingredient, lutein readily separates from the tablet matrix and causes visible surface stains on tablets.
Oxidative degradation – lutein is sensitive to light, oxygen, and heat. prone to degradation and loss of activity during processing and storage.
