Sales Manager

Summary: The Sales Manager reports to the Sales Director. He/she is responsible for identifying and fostering relationships with key accounts and decision makers. They mobilize resources to anticipate and respond to customer needs, problems, and opportunities. The Sales Manager leads the account managers to implement and execute sales demand strategies. They provide account managers with sufficient support, supervisory oversight, and customer engagement to achieve or exceed the sales forecasts. They are responsible for the coaching and career development of the account managers.

Job Responsibilities:

• Develop annual business plan in conjunction with Sales Director, which details activities to follow during the fiscal year, focusing on meeting or exceeding sales quota.
• Detailed understanding of pricing models and demonstrate technical selling skills and product knowledge to offer relevant solutions to customers.
• Develop a database of qualified leads through referrals, telephone canvassing, face to face, cold calling, trade shows, direct mail, email and networking.
• Create and conduct effective proposal presentations and responses.
• Responsible for acquiring, maintaining, visiting, corresponding, servicing and developing customer relationships to ensure customer satisfaction.
• Establish plans and strategies to penetrate new markets and accounts.
• Advise on forthcoming product developments, market trends, competitor information and suggesting special promotions.
• Coordinate, mentor and foster Account managers in developing, responding and servicing customers.
• Trade shows management and participation (including pre-planning, coordination of customer meetings, set-up and tear down). 
• Monitor sales activities to ensure all are within compliance guidelines and provide timely feedback on marketing tactics and market conditions while collaborating closely with leadership, commercial operations, marketing and other business units.
• Any other duties deemed appropriate by management.


Job requirements:

• At least 5 years of sales experience in comparable industries. 2+ years of management experience preferred.
• Strong ability to lead, coach & mentor high performing teams with demonstrated track-record.
• Proven ability to achieve sales quotas.
• Excellence in all aspects of Sales Management, especially outstanding sales performance.
• Experts in customer relationship management, market dynamics and requirements.
• Bachelor’s degree with business concentration, food, pharma, or biochemistry is required.
• Fluent in English.
